Napier Libraries under the Traffic Light System

My Vaccine Passes not required from Saturday March 26th

The Government has recently released changes to its Covid-19 traffic light framework, announcing that it will drop all requirements for My Vaccine Passes from 11.59pm, Monday 4th April. We have made the decision to remove our requirements for My Vaccine Passes a little earlier than this date.

With other safety measures in place, such as mask wearing, rapid antigen testing and vaccinations, we’re confident that we can make this change earlier without exposing our staff or customers to any further health risk.

  • From Saturday 26th March, a Vaccine Pass will not be required when visiting either Napier or Taradale Library.
  • From Tuesday 29th March, the main area of Napier Library will reopen and the library will be fully operational.
  • Our Napier branch will remain closed on Sundays and Mondays for the time being, while Taradale is open seven days a week, as usual.

Our team will continue to follow Ministry of Health guidelines (face masks to be worn by both staff and library users and physical distancing monitored) to protect you and ensure your visit to our libraries is a safe and enjoyable experience. We look forward to seeing you—however, if you are feeling unwell, please hold off your visit until your symptoms clear to ensure the safety of our community and staff.

There may be guidance changes in the future which we will respond to as required and will keep you as informed as possible. Feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns and make sure you're following our Facebook page for the most up-to-date information.
